Wisconsin public bids, on one board.
Wisconsin public bids with their line items, past unit prices for each item, and the contractors who usually bid this kind of work. Taken from the agencies' own postings.
The board is open. Access is $20 a month, by request: sign in, tell us what you bid, and we set up your account.
Line items and past prices.

Wisconsin public bids on one board. WisDOT lettings, state buildings, UW System and municipal bids, with closing dates and estimated values.

More than highway work. State, UW System and municipal bids are on the same board as WisDOT lettings.

Filter by type of work. Construction, design, services or goods.

Open a bid to see its scope from the agency's posting. The work, the commodity codes, and the buyer's name and contact details as published.

The bid package and its status. The documents the agency posted, the solicitation number, the closing date and the status. When a portal requires an account for its files, the bid is marked that way.

Where the agency posts its documents publicly, we read them. The solicitation, the addenda and the specification, so the scope and the priced lines use the agency's own wording. More than 2,100 bids so far.

Special provisions for each item. What the contract requires for a given line, taken from the full proposal and plan set: for example the certified diver who inspects the bridge substructure, the handling rules for stainless reinforcing bar, and the orange safety fence. The exact wording is one click away.

Each line item with past prices. 107 pay items on this one, largest first, each with the range of past Wisconsin bids on that item at this quantity, and how many bids and lettings it is based on.

Price the bid on the same page. Enter your unit prices beside the range, or use the median of past bids, and the sheet totals as you go. Open a line to see every bid behind the range. Your prices are saved for your next bid.
How we get the documents
Where the agency posts its documents publicly, we read them. The invitation, the addenda, the specification, the special provisions and the item schedule, so the scope and priced lines use the agency's own wording. More than 2,100 bids so far.
Where a plan room requires a supplier account, we do not register or scrape it. Registering would add us to the project's plan-holder list, which records who intends to bid. Those bids appear on the board by name only, with a link to the listing.
We add new city and county sources regularly. If a bid page you watch is not on here yet, tell us.
Taken from agency records.
Each bid comes from the public posting of the agency that issued it, and each listing links back to that agency's page. Where an agency posts its files publicly we read them; where a plan room requires an account, we show the bid by name with a link to the listing.

A national database treats Wisconsin like a rounding error.
The big construction-data companies cover fifty states, which sounds like more until you notice their coverage stops at the metro line: Milwaukee and Madison get read, and the rest of the state shows up late, thin, or not at all.
We only do one state. That's the whole point. We can afford to read the Door County highway committee agenda, the City of Marshfield's plan commission minutes, and the village bid page that posts four times a year, because we're not trying to do the same thing in forty-nine other places.

Bid results since 2019.
Bid results are public but posted one PDF at a time. We read them down to each pay item and keep them in one searchable place.
- Price an itemCompare a unit price with past prices for the same pay item across the state.
- Open any past jobSee the full tabulation: every bidder and every price.
- Look up a contractorHow often they are low bidder, where they bid, and how their prices compare.

Nearly seven years of public bid results, searchable. By contractor, by project, by county, or just the number on a job you remember.

Open a result and you get the tabulation as published. Each bidder on that job, what they priced, and how far over the low they came in.

Open a past bid's line items. Each item with its quantity, the low bidder's unit price and total, and the median of the other bidders on the same line.

Click any name for their full record. Bids, low bids, low-bid rate, the counties they work, who they meet most often, and how they price against the field.

And what they charge, line by line, against everyone else. Their unit price next to the field median on the same item, so you know where they are cheap and where they are not.

Look up any line item's past prices. Median, typical range, and how many bids it is based on. Mobilization has a median of $119,795 across 7,105 prices.

Competitor records on an open bid. Contractors who bid in that county and on that board, each with their record and how far above the low bid they usually are when they are not low.

Expand a contractor to see their past prices on this bid's lines. This contractor has priced 105 of this bid's items before: mobilization at $111,407, traffic control at $6,600, each with their median and the number of bids it is based on.
The short answers.
What counts as a "public bid" here?
A bid issued by a Wisconsin government body and posted publicly: state highway bids, state facility projects, county and municipal construction contracts, and the services and procurement bids those agencies post.
How current is it?
Bids are added as agencies post them, and closed bids are removed automatically.
Do you host the bid documents?
No. We publish the facts about a bid (owner, scope, closing date, engineer's estimate, contact, and the line items where they are public) and link to the agency's page for the documents. The agency's copy is the official one, and you should get on the plan holder list.
Everything here comes from an agency's public posting. We never log into or scrape private bid platforms. When a bid's documents are only on one, we list the bid by name with a link to it.
Where do the historical unit prices come from?
Past Wisconsin bid results. For each pay item we show the median unit price, the typical range, and how many prices it is based on. Items bid as a lump sum are marked.
How do I get access?
Ask for it: sign in and request access. The board is open to contractors, suppliers and engineers who bid Wisconsin public work, and each account is set up by hand.
Who's behind it?
It is built and run by a Wisconsin native, born and raised in Marshfield, with a Bachelor's in Computer Science and an MBA from UW–Eau Claire and a Master's in Data Analytics from Penn State. It covers Wisconsin only, because Wisconsin is home and covering one state lets it go further in depth. When you write in, your email goes to the person who built it.
